Rurar Urban Art was new festival focused on small Estonian places and was part of Estonia100 program. 2018 festival took place in Põlva and was collaboration between Estonians and Finnish. Festival idea was to bring closer art and transform environment for more happier place.
The mural "Virr-varr” was inspired by artist childhood memories from home down Põlva - a grey small town without colors. This bright-coloured painting salutes youth, courage, folklore and the local nature. The central motif - a kingfisher - is a symbol of Põlvamaa who can be spotted in Southern Estonia's forests.
